The Customised Workspace Utility creates a Project Workspace dynamically when a project is published for the first time. By default, when a project is published, the project workspace is created if the setting in Project Web Access (PWA) is set to automatic. However, all workspaces created using Project Server are on the basis of a single template selected in PWA. Hence, all projects that are published have a similar workspace created on the basis of the selected template.In a real life scenario, the type of project workspace may differ for different projects. For example, a sales type project may need a different type of project workspace as compared to an accounts type project workspace. The Customised Workspace Utility has been created to meet this requirement. Using the Customised Workspace Utility, when a project is published, the value from an Enterprise Project Custom field is taken, and on the basis of the value present in this field, the project workspace gets created with the appropriate workspace template settings as specified in the config settings.
